Cindy Bo

Cindy is the inaugural Chief, UVA Health Children’s. She is a highly accomplished executive with deep experience leading healthcare delivery at prominent health systems in the US. Cindy is known for her impactful work, particularly in children’s health.

Most recently Cindy was the inaugural Chief Strategy Officer at Boston Medical Center Health System where she grew the clinical enterprise and other system assets to drive financial sustainability for the largest essential health system in New England.
​
Prior to that, Cindy served as the inaugural Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Nemours Children’s Health, one of the nation’s largest multi-state freestanding pediatric health systems. For 10 years, she focused on building programs, sites of care and partnerships across the Delaware Valley.
​
She was also an Associate Partner at Deloitte and an Associate at Booz & Company, where she provided advisory services for Fortune 100 clients. Cindy was also a Director for Novartis AG, where she led the financial strategy and corporate planning for the North American Cardiovascular portfolio.
She is a national and international speaker, including being a TEDx Speaker and a speaker at Becker’s, Modern Healthcare, ACHE and more. Cindy is an Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellow and a Malcolm Baldrige Executive Fellow. She also serves on several distinguished Boards across the United States including as a Board Member for Leadership Delaware, Inc.; The Clinic for Special Children; March of Dimes, Boston; and Children and Families First of Delaware.

Cindy holds an MBA with high distinction from Columbia Business School as well as a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management Information Systems from Binghamton University.

Jean-Marc Halbout

Jean-Marc Halbout is a seasoned executive with a distinguished career in healthcare spanning over four decades, characterized by an exceptional ability to lead transformative initiatives and deliver sustainable growth in complex business environments.

Jean-Marc spent close to 25 years at Quest Diagnostics growing $1.5B+ P&Ls in leadership roles including President and General Manager, West Region (2021-2025), SVP, Commercial (2019-2021), VP, Commercial (2012-2019), VP, Regional Operations (2006-2012) and Chief Information Officer and VP, Information Technology (2002-2006).

Before joining Quest Diagnostics, Jean-Marc held leadership positions at IBM, where he managed high-value accounts like JP Morgan and Lucent Technologies, delivering e-business and infrastructure services with multi-million-dollar annual revenues.
​
His contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous accolades, including IBM’s Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards and multiple patents. A prolific author, he has co-authored over 65 refereed publications and presented at more than 150 industry conferences.

Fluent in French and conversant in German and Russian, Jean-Marc brings a global perspective to his expertise which positions him as a transformative leader adept at navigating the complexities of today’s business environment.

Jean-Marc earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering & Physics from Cornell University. He also holds an Engineering degree from Institut Supérieur d’Électronique de Paris.

Michael Norman
Strategic Advisor - Biopharma

Michael is a senior Life Sciences leader and previous Executive Committee member with over 35 years experience in large and small biopharmaceutical companies, biotechs and medical device technology companies, serving in numerous executive and senior management roles. He has depth and breadth of experience working with external customers, clinicians, Government payors, boards and CEOs. He has worked and lived in multiple geographies where he developed expertise in launching innovative high value medicines in areas such as Immuno-Oncology, GvHD, CV, HIV and CNS. He achieved this using differing business models to gain regulatory, market access and funding success in multiple diverse markets. He brings a global perspective to regional or in-market business opportunities, and a pragmatic mindset on how to tangibly address them.
Most recently Michael has been consulting full time with Amarin Corp in the EU launch and commercialization of their CV/Met brand, in addition to managing their UK and Ireland business. Prior to that he served as Senior Vice President International and member of the Executive Committee for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, with global responsibility for a portfolio of both drugs and devices. In that role he optimized the commercial specialty care footprint with numerous launches in new and existing markets, as well as the global divestiture of the Therakos franchise to private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
Previously, Michael held a variety of senior roles at Bristol Myers Squibb as VP, Head of Middle East Africa and India, GM of CEE/Austria markets, GM of Austria, Global Brand Lead for Plavix and Avapro, in addition to other commercial leadership roles in multiple geographies. Prior to that, Michael held several leadership roles at Eli Lilly including Program Manager for Prozac, and was part of Lilly’s associate development program.
Michael was previously a member of PhRMA’s Middle East & Africa (MEA) board, EFPIA board for CEE, and ABPI in the UK. He has a Certificate in General Management from INSEAD and completed the NED Director Development Program at INSEAD. He holds a BS in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the University of Brighton.
